  1. Hi Jason,
This is Jose Manuel from Spain. First of all I thank you for developing this app. I would like to use it. However when I get it from App Store it always installs in Chinese. How can I get the app in English?

I thank you in advance for your help.

    Best,
    Jose Manuel

    1. GPS Hiker currently is a trip-centric application. If you put POIs in a GPX file, you can import the file for POIs. Those POIs will not stay permanently in the application though. They will be gone if you quit the app or another trip is imported.

    2. Thank you for quick answer. When I import gpx with POIs, open my "track" in "My Trips" tab. and click on "i" (Information) button I get Notice "Track information unavailable". What's next?

Another question: what is the purpose of "POIs" tab in Search window?

    3. In Search, the trips are the ones in everytrail.com. If you have uploaded the trip into the site and receive the "track info unavailable" message, you can go to the site to download the trip in PC or Mac and the track will be available in you iPhone app. This is a workaround to solve the problem. Or the site will eventually fix the problem periodically.

  5. Great app. Congratulations! But sometimes the GPS location is jumping around. Any solution? I am running the app on iPhone5 and keep it in my pocket.

    1. Thanks for the kind words. You can try to hold your iphone in the out to see if it improves. If yes, the reception in your pocket is probably bad. Also occasionally you can restart the phone to see if it improves.

    1. Mike,

If you want to send the gpx file to GPS Hiker, you can mail the file to yourself, open the attachment via GPS Hiker on your phone mail app. The gpx file will be saved in Saved Trips automatically. If you want to send the saved gpx file to others, you can go to Saved Trips, click on the info button on the trip and mail the trip to person of interest. Hope I have answered your question and let me know if I didn't.

  7. Hello Jason,
I am excited about your app. However, I'm not seeing a price on the iPhone even though it is asking for my credit card number. is it free?
    Thanks, Joshua

    1. Yes. GPS Hiker is free and no ad. It's probably Apple asking for payment info and has nothing to do with GPS Hiker.

  8. Great app. I can send a gpx file from dropbox to GPS Hiker, but it doesn't show up in the list of saved trips. Every time I send it, the file number that it says it's saving goes up by 1, so I'm fairly sure it's being saved. It's just not showing up in the list.

    1. Currently the app only recognizes the file with the small case, gpx, extension. This is fixed in the new version which should be out soon. Before then, you may change the file extension before sending it to the app.
